Format of Variables

Postby dollieda » Wed Mar 20, 2013 5:09 pm

Just a basic question:

When running a OLS regression do I need to have all variables (dependent and independent) in the same format? Buy this I mean all percentages or all numeric values or can they be a mix i.e GDP growth rate(%) and total population(#), etc.?

Many thanks for any answer you can give!

No, they can be in any form you like. Of course, the interpretation of the coefficients will depend on the forms you choose.
