Daily meteorological data - Modelling and Forecasting

Postby eason9999 » Wed Mar 13, 2013 3:34 am

All, I really need your technical advice in regarding how to build a time series model for a daily data. In my research, I obtained a 10 years meteorological data which is recorded in daily based. Is it possible for me to build an ARIMA model or some else to describe one season only? For instance, summer. As I obtained a 10 years daily data, can I partition them into 4 groups, said spring, summer, autumn and winter. So that I can build 4 different models to describe 4 different season. Question here, can I use that accumulated data said, 10 years summer data to build a ARIMA model to forecast the next summer data? Looking forward for your technical advice. Thanks
