How to set default number of digits

I´ve been having trouble with a few data files which are only taking 9 digits when i would really need at least 15. I´ve manually changed it within the spreadsheet options but i haven´t been able to get the changed to stick. I´m using EViews 7 and need the precision of those extra numbers. Does anyone have any ideas? Help would be very appreciated!
