Hye,
I need help about Dummy variable.Your help will be highly appriciated as i am unable to contact my supervisor.
I am trying to determine the determinants of food security in pakistan using cross cestion data for year 2009. I am using data of all 131 districts from 7 provinces. Along with other independent variables i want to see the locality impact of distrcts (province in which the district is situated) for which i am taking provinces as dummy. I was using 7 dummies but then i got dummy trape now i have to use 6 duumies?how to interpret the provience for which dummy is not used?my equation is
FAV= ABF+CBF+Punjab+Sindh+Boluchistan+Khyber+Fata+Gilgit+Kashmeer
where
FAV=Total food Food availability in disrict
ABF= Animal base-food availability in district
CBF=Crop-base food availability in district
Punjab=1 if district belong to Punjab,=0 otherwise
Sindh=1 if district belong to Sindh, =0 otherwise.....
Boluchistan =1 if district belong to Balochistan,=0 otherwise
Khyber =1 if district belong to Khyber,=0 otherwise
Fata =1 if district belong to Fata,=0 otherwise
Gilgit =1 if district belong to Gilgit,=0 otherwise
Kashmeer=1 if district belong to Kashmeer,=0 otherwise
Note that Food Availability is one component of food security ,others are Food Accessibility and Food Absorption.So I have two more equations for these dependent variables with different independent variables and same dummies.Please help me in this regard.
Kind regards
Sara
