Klein Rule of Thumb

Postby yasir » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:57 pm

Hi,
Sorry to ask again. I wanted to know is there any way to perform the Klein Rule of Thumb in Eviews? Its also been used in research to see for multicollinearity issue. The idea is to estimate an OLS regression and then one by one replacing the independent variables with the dependent variable and noticing the R Square. If the R Square is greater than that of the original OLS, it means there is correlation. I am sorry how much you could understand from my description because I also cannot explain it very well here. Anyhow, is there anyway Eviews can perform it automatically, like the Stepwise Regression? Thanks
