Non-standard characters behaviour

Postby paues » Fri Apr 20, 2012 12:53 am

EViews seems to think that words containing non-standard characters (e.g. å, ä, ö, Å, Ä, Ö, á, à, ã, ï etc.) can be broken anywhere (in e.g. the @uiprompt function). It would be great if these would be treated the same as standard characters.

Consider the two dialog boxes:

Code: Select all

@uiprompt("one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven andareallylongwordwithonlystandardcharacters") @uiprompt("one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven åååandareallylongwordwithonlystandardchar")
On my computer, the first dialog box treats the last "word" as one word breaks the line before. But the second dialog box breaks the last "word" after the non-standard characters (ååå), even though the complete last word is shorter in length than in the first dialog box.

Gotcha. I'll see what we can do.

The April 27th patch contains the fix.
