Hi, could someone help me. When I try to open a program .WF1 in EVIEWS 7 I get the following error: "File error: Attempt to read beyond the end of this file. The file is probably corrupted.". When this happens I can not open the file. Can anyone tell me how to recover again the file?. And, how I can avoid this mistake in the future?
Thanks.
Francisco

Re: File error
Hard to know what is causing the corruption. Ensure that your copy of EViews is entirely up to date first of all.
Recovering the files is nearly impossible. However there probably a backup available. In the same directory as the .wf1 file there is probably a file with the same name, but a ~f1 extension. You can rename that to be a .wf1 file and then use that instead.

Re: File error
Thank you for your answer. I did what you say but the version of my file recovery is the last. This usually happen when the .WF1 is stored on another machine via the network and try to work with it from my machine. when I record it takes a lot. Then I want to open again and I get the error. The error could be because the file I'm working on is on another machine on the network and not on my machine?
Thanks again.

Re: File error
It could be that there is some network interference that is causing the corruption. Try copying it to your local machine (in Windows) before opening it EViews.
