Creating a Panel Data Series from excel

HI everyone

First post here as I am new to eviews, I have version 6 to use so not the latest. My problem is that I have panel data in excel that I want to import into eviews to run a panel regression on eventually, but I can't event get the data in the right format. In terms of data I have 27 countries, time series from 1987-2009, 1 independent variable for each country and 6 explanatory variables for each country for each year. Does anyone have any idea how I should organise this data in excel to import into eviews and then how to go about getting it in the right format for eviews to run a regression on. Thanks for any advice on this, after many hours of reading the eviews manual I still don't understand and its becoming urgent!!!.
