panel and pooled data

hi,
i'm new at this forum and eviews as well. i am studying with a panel data with 8 cross sections, 18 periods and 5 variables. i wonder is it necessary to pool the panel data for estimation (ols, lsdv etc). i couldn't find a way to make a regression with my panel data out of pool, because to use for example "rgdp_?" definition is possible only with pooled data. is this true or am i wrong? i need help please..thank you in advance.
