Hi,
Now I have one problem about data frequency conversion. I have more than 100 sequences of monthly grain price data. I want to convert this montly dataset into semi-annual dataset. What I want to do is to choose the 2nd month and 8th month price for the first and second semi-annual price record respectively
I have already read the "Frequency Conversion" section in the User Guide, but I cannot find the specific conversion methods for my data manipulation. ( As far as I understand, if I want to choose some specific month for high-low frequency conversion, only the first month and the last month can be chosed by the current options dialog.)
Your assistance will be highly appreciated
best wishes

Re: one question about frequency conversion
You are right that you can only choose first or last as the specific months. However you can always cheat by creating a new series in the monthly page that is equal to the lagged value of the original series, such that the 2nd month is equal to the 1st month.

Hi, many thanks for your help. You are right that you can only choose first or last as the specific months. However you can always cheat by creating a new series in the monthly page that is equal to the lagged value of the original series, such that the 2nd month is equal to the 1st month.
I think this suggestion would work. But, I still hope in the future you could have some update against this minor issue so that it would be more convinent for users to convert the frequency of grain price data.
cheers
