Creating Dummy Variables

Postby an104 » Sun Oct 02, 2011 12:56 am

Hi,

I'm trying to generate dummy variables for industries. I've included @expand(industry) in my regression, but get "Insufficient number of observations"

This is my regression:

equation eq2.ls vroa age capex aggconcern aggstrength div_yield leverage market_to_book number_of_sectors r_d size @expand(industry).

I've made sure there are no missing observations, however, still get the same error.

Could someone please help! Thanks!

You've typed something wrong.

Code: Select all

ls vroa age capex aggconcern aggstrength div_yield leverage market_to_book number_of_sectors r_d size @expand(industry)
worked fine for me.

I've tried pasting your code, but the same error still seems to pop up. I'm using Eviews 7.1 by the way. Must be something wrong with my Eviews.

Possible. Do the free update to 7.2 and see if the problem goes away.
