Im trying to load the following excel with it´s corresponding dated frequency(the last day of every year from 2000 to 2010). This has never happened to me but when i load it doesnt read the date column as the date series. It reads the excel as a unstructured/undated series. When i specify that the excel is indeed regualrly dated and specify the start date which is 31/12/2000 and hit finish. The excel appears dated but with 01/12/2000 as start date. Why?
Many Thanks

Re: Load Correctly
How are you opening it, and in which version of EViews? When I drag that file onto EViews 7, it recognises the dates without any problems.
Re: Load Correctly
I copy the info, open the eviews workfile and hit paste as new workfile. It reads the date series as another series. I dont know why. I have eviews7. The data needs to be dated for the last day of every year. Because my ultimate goal here is to creat a daily series from the original via interpolation. So i really need the data to be dated correctly. Supposing it will always read the dates as another series, isnt there a way to change this? Help me please.

Re: Load Correctly
Try updating the latest version (Help->EViews Update).
I'm not convinced it will get you to where you want to be, but I'm still not 100% certain I know where you want to be yet, and at least updating will get you to where I am!

Re: Load Correctly
Hello :
Im updating as we speak. So basically my problem is the following : The excelworkbook i attached is on an annual frequency(the last day of every year from 2000 to 2009). When i load the excel page, my eviews7 reads the date series as another series and not as a date index. My ultimate goal is to load the excel workbook, and then generate a daily series via interpolation of the original yearly series. I know how to do the interpolation and i have loaded a lot of workbooks and have never had the problem im having right now. I hope the update helps. Any other suggestions?

Re: Load Correctly
ok, when I do what you say you're doing, EViews reads it in as dated:
Re: Load Correctly
Somehow i found a way to do it but my eviews does not read like yours did. In the second figure you posted the date series appears as another series. I really dont know why. But anyway i found a way to do the interpolation. Many thanks for your time.
