Reference of linear interpolation

Postby brucebruce » Sat Dec 04, 2010 12:58 pm

Hi, everybody,
I have used the linear interpolation to get the quarterly series from the annual. I want to know the reference paper of the linear interpolation integrated in the Eviews, I haven't find the reference in the user's guide. Could some one help me ?
Thanks you

You do not have to worry about a formal reference paper on linear interpolation, since the referee will probably focus on other issues rather than questioning this very common and basic technique. Just cite a proper textbook from the field of mathematics, statistics, econometrics, quantitative methods, etc. I am sure you can find one in your library.
