Thank you very much for your reply.
Based on the above results, am I ok to estimate using the fixed effects model with both time and cross section fixed? (I really hope so)

Re: Not quite sure how to interpret this...
Sorry the formatting didn't come out how I would have liked it to. Basically, I get 0 p-values for all my redundant fixed effects tests. How do I interpret these?
Please help me! I have to give this in tomorrow and I don't know how to interpret these values

Not quite sure how to interpret this...
Hi, When running the Redundant Fixed effects test, i get the following output: Redundant Fixed Effects Tests Equation: Untitled Test cross-section and period fixed effects Effects Test Statistic d.f. Prob. Cross-section F 121.093217 (34,127) 0.0000 Cross-section Chi-square 649.186150 34 0.0000 Perio...

Re: Panel data not balancing for some reason?
Do you have any reccomendation of how I can balance this- as I assume the inserting observations option won't be relevant here? Or to balance it, do I need to delete the other observations if I don't have them for the full data set? I have quite a few missing pieces of data so this may not be the be...

Re: Panel data not balancing for some reason?
Sorry do you mean that if I have an NA for one country in one year but I do have an observation for another country in the same year, it is unbalanced?

Re: Panel data not balancing for some reason?
See attached for my print screens. It doesn't allow me to do so with the number of observations in the background- but I promise i haven't done anything strange!

Re: Panel data not balancing for some reason?
This is what I thought, but then when I loaded it into a new workfile, I selected the balanced panel option yet afterwards when I had imported my data (and tried inserting it manually too) it keeps telling me it is unbalanced. I then proceeded to 'balance' it per the corrections and it still told me...

Panel data not balancing for some reason?
My panel isn't balancing and I don't know why! I've followed the instructions in the handbook- but then it just reverts back to the default setting and won't let me estimate with two-way random effects or mixed effects. Also, on a side note which doesn't really need to be answered- when I imported m...

Re: Help needed urgently on very simple question (I hope!)
I think that is working now- I knew it was something stupid on my part.
Thank you so much for your help I really appreciate it and I am sorry if I bother you with more silly questions!

Re: Help needed urgently on very simple question (I hope!)
In what sense is it the same as I have (hopefully) got a different GDP value for each corresponding year for each country?

Re: Help needed urgently on very simple question (I hope!)
Sorry I am new to this. In an ideal world, I would like to estimate: log(gdp)= log(elecloss) log(airfreight) log(ictimport) log(infmort) log(mobile) log(port) log(railtot) log(roadtot) log(secondsch) log(water) In panel options, it's not letting me change for fixed/random effect for the period. I ha...

Re: Help needed urgently on very simple question (I hope!)
I am trying to regress log(gdp) on log(airtransport) log(container port) log(electricity power loss) log(ICT imports) log(infant mortality) log(improved water source) log(raillines) (log road network) log(school enrolment) and Log(mortaility rates). I have 57 cross sections spanning 1990-2009 I reco...

Help needed urgently on very simple question (I hope!)
Hi everyone, I am regressing panel data, and I keep getting the error message near singular matrix when I change the Period function to fixed and I get the error message 'positive or non-negative argument to function estimate expected of RE innovation variance' when I change it to random. Can someon...

Desperate plea for help on panel data using EViews7
forum.xls forum.xls Hello everyone! I need to make a model for my dissertation, but the only contact i've had with econometrics was making a simple time series model 2 years ago. I have also never used EViews before. I am trying to find out which infrastructure indicator change has had the most sig...
