Eviews hang

Recently, it has become time consuming for my eviews to open grops (i.e. I choose time series x1 then I tap Ctrl and choose another time series x2, then Eviews hangs for an approximately 10-20 seconds and only then I can do right mouse click and create group). What can it be?

More details, please. Which version of EViews are you using? What is the build date (Help->About EViews)? Is this behaviour only seen with a specific workfile, or with any workfile?

I use win 7 x64, Intel Core i5-4430S CPU 2.70GHz, 4 GB RAM, Eviews 8 17 mar 2014 build enterprise edition. It doesn't mattar what workfile. What else can be helpful for you?

I don't think we've ever heard anything like that before.
Just to clarify: does the delay you are experiencing occur after clicking the right mouse button but before the right mouse button menu is displayed?
How many objects are in the workfile you are using? Does the delay happen even if the workfile only contains a couple of objects?
Would you be able to look at the CPU usage displayed in Windows Task Manager and see whether EViews (or anything else running on the system) appears to be active during the 10-20 second delay?

Delay occurs after clicking left mouse button on the second time series: windows 7 blue "working" circl appears and Eviews do not respond for a while. Workfile size is 878 KB. and it contains approximately 500 objects, most of them are time series 118 observations each. I tried to reproduce this delay in small workfile and I could not get it. So it is a problem of big workfile. Does it mean that I need more powerful machine? Or how can I optimise mine? In the attachment you can find CPU usage print screen. Eviews delay is between red lines.

500 objects is actually pretty small. (We have test files with hundreds of thousands of objects using gigabytes of memory).
I notice that there's a fair amount of other activity going on on your machine at the same time. I assume this isn't EViews, since EViews normally doesn't use any CPU when it is idle.
Do you see the same delay when EViews is the only program running?

Yes, if I reboot my machine and then start only Eviews the delay would remain.

Would it be possible to zip up the workfile in which you are seeing the problem and email it to
support@eviews.com?
It really has to be something unusual about the workfile or something unusual about your machine, so if we could take a look at the workfile on our end it might help narrow things down.
