Hi,
when i try to open a specific eviews workfile, a box with the message "INTERNAL ERROR 502" appears and the file does not open. Is there anyway i can fix this problem, or does this mean that the workfile is corrupted ? It would be great if i could get a response soon.

A good answer is going to have to wait for morning pacific time. In the meantime, you should say what version and build date you have (under About) and possibly post the workfile. You may also want to email
support@eviews.com , including the serial number and version and attaching your workfile.

It's not a bug...sorry to report that the workfile is almost certainly corrupted. Do you have one of the ~f1 backups available?

Hello,
Thanks for the responses.I deleted the corresponding ~f1 file. I will get the network backup tape from the day before the error occured and use that wf1 file.

Hello,
The "INTERNAL ERROR 502" error occurs when i reopen a file that failed to save successfully before.
When i try to save any eviews file, i get an error message saying "the instruction at "0x006d91ca" referenced memory at "0x0000003c". the memory could not be "read" "
after i terminate the program and try to reopen the file again, the "internal error.." message pops up. i have the ~f1 backup file available now.
Does this mean that i have to re-install eviews? i have EVIEWS 6 and unfortunately cannot provide you with a copy of the original file.
regards,
Ganesh

You should try installing the latest patch before re-installing.

As to the backup file, make a copy, rename it to something with the extension .wf1 and then open as usual...
