Large PRG-file in Eviews

Is there a maximum program size which Eviews can handle? I have to do a lot of similar regressions, so I have generated a large Eviews program (using php, because I am more familiar with this language). However, when I try to run the PRG-file in Eviews, the application stops (Not responding). The PRG is 8MB and consists of 300k lines of code. When I try to run only a small portion of the program, it works perfectly and is sufficiently fast, i.e. the problem is opening the PRG-file rather than running it. Is this a known problem for large files? Thanks in advance.

Syntax highlighting a 300k file could take a very long time. Try turning off syntax highlighting by unchecking the 'Use syntax coloring' in the options->general options (programs->general tab).
