I have some problems about interpolation

It works when the missing value (NA) has the previous and next observations.
is this kind of series like as the attachment possible to interpolate?
Doesn't need to have the previous and next observation for the missing value if we want to interpolate it ?
if yes , how did I see someone can filling up all missing value without previous and next observation for the missing value?

Please help me :(

How are you interpolating?

How are you interpolating?

"Open up the series ---> Proc--->interpolate --->choose log-linear method -->press OK "

but there is nothing changes for NA

Do you have data points before the NAs?

No, the series starts from 1997Q1 (NA)

Can this situation(the attachment )be interpolated?

Interpolation means filling in NAs surrounded by actual data.
