This is not a proper bug, but I think it should be forbiddent to have the same file opened twice at the same time. You can even save file b into file a when file a is open!

I do not see any good points for that option, only bad ones.

This is a feature (and one I personally use all the time). I find it very useful to have more than one copy of the same dataset open at a time.
