I tried to install EViews 7 student version on my macbook pro running 10.8.1. I first encountered a problem where the software didnt have permission to access info.plst, but i was able to fix that by changing to "read and write". However, now I still cannot even open the program. When i try to run it or a data set, it hangs for a while then i get an error message: "ERROR! Launching wineserver failed! No new wineserver PID found!"

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Have you tried rebooting your machine?

If you have and it still does not work, from a terminal window type Did that fix the problem? If not email support@eviews.com and mention this thread for more information.
