adjusting trend line

Hello,
I am relatively new to Eviews ( Eviews 7) I am really hoping someone could help me with this query.
I am trying to estimate electricity usage against a range of explantory variables.
My equestion is as follow: log (electricity) = constant + log(output) + log(price) + trend
When i am trying to forecast electricity usuage based on the above equation, I find the electricity usuage becomes very large because of the strong positive trend. I wonder if it is possible to make adjustment to the trend line so that it will be weaker towards the end of forecast period.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
Regards,
Tzutzu
