I have around 50 excel files (saved as csv files) with similar data in it and want al this data together in eviews. To achieve this I tried to make 1 file from the excel files and then open it in eviews. But here the problem started, first I got an error message with: 'alpha truncated', and I think I fixed that problem. But now I receive a different error message: 'sharing violation for file' . What can I do about this?

And most important, how can I put these different excelfiles in 1 eviews file?

Sharing violation is just Excel being silly. Close down Excel before trying to open it in EViews.


As an aside, it probably would have been easier to open up the 50 files inside one EViews file, rather than combine them in Excel first.
