Combine Trendvariable and Time Fixed Effects?

Hi everybody,
I am currently working on a panelanalysis, and I wanted to use TFE (Time Fixed Effects) because some tests suggested this. Now my prof wants me to include a "time trend variable" because my dependant variable seems to be "time-intesiv".
Does anyone know if Timedummies and Time Trend Variables are "combinable"? And what kind of interpretation this would make?
