Hi There,
I have a gdp graph and I'm trying to mark on it the recession periods as gray bars. What is the best way to do it?
Can I search for the period that gdp change is negative and mark all that period with a bar?
Thanks.

Currently, you can't place shading based upon the values of a series, only by date:

Thanks.
It seems programs are not supported in the student version.
Any other solutions?

Freeze the graph, click Line/Shade, select Shaded area, then enter the dates for the first shaded area you want. Click Ok. Then click Line/Shade again and enter the second date pair. An so on

That would take for ever for multiple graphs.
Can I create one graph with only shades and then overlap it with any other graph that I want?
thanks.

Yes. make the graph and save it. Then when you make a later graph choose template, and be sure to select the option to include lines/shades.
