Panel Data Estimation

Hi Everyone,

I'm relatively new to Eviews and this forum. I'm trying to run a fixed effects regression on cigarette consumption. My data is organized from 2000- 2009 and contains data for each of the 50 states during these time periods. My dependent variable is Cigarette consumption and my main independent variable is cigarette taxes. My other independent variables are log(gdp) Total population size ethnicity (% of population that is a certain ethnicity) anti smoking funding and average CPI. I know how to structure the workfile as time series with cross sections but my problem comes when I try to estimate the equation. I'm unsure of what to put in the instrument list. I would greatly appreciate any help. Also, is it possible to use average CPI (averaged from all 50 states) in this regression?

Thanks!
