I have downloaded the fracdiff* add-in. What do I have to enter into "format string" during step 1 of 3 in the add-in.
My goal is to obtain a fractionally differenced time series of share prices - daily

I'm not sure I follow the question - the add-in doesn't ask for a "format string".

You need to be using the latest version of EViews 7.1 to use the add-in. You can check your version and build date by clicking on Help-About EViews.

Updated to EViews 7.1 and everything is running smoothly.
