Extrapolation

Hi i have a series from 1970-2008. but i want the data from 1960 . can any one suggest men the way of Extrapolation

Well, you don't have a starting point ...I seriously doubt that you could make anything out of it .... unless you assume that the 10-year trend is consistent through the next 30 odd years ... then you can just apply the 10 year trend to those the 1960 - 1969 period.

If you had a starting point or an interior point between 1960 and 1970, then you could run an "interpolation" analysis. In this case, however, you can build a valid model for 1970-2008 period and then try to backcast for the missing values in 1960-1969 period. Exponential smoothing, ARIMA(X) or any kind of time series decomposition models might be useful for this purpose.

I have tried excel interpolation function to find out the missing values . its is filling the values between the two data points but not filling the missing values
can you tell me how we can find out the last missing values

Hi! I have a series from 1980-2010. I want the data from 1970. Can anyone suggest the how I can use Eviews to do Extrapolation to arrive at this?
