Bug in excel sheet

When i wrote my data in Excel 2003 and then i imported the sheet on Eviews5.0, the variables are string, it shows me ABC !!!
I tried to import a sheet from the forum as a try and i succeed to do unit root test on the variables.
The bug msg when i press unit root test and i choose a variable "GDP fr exple" is "UROOT is not a valid view for GDP" !!
where is the problem ?
