Dear Eviews,

Look at this. Is this OK?
1. I downloaded one series from EUROSTAT SDMX database (series: "prc_hicp_midx__coicop=cp00.freq=m.geo=ea.unit=i15")
2. I saved the series in Workfile with a possibility to update it (linked the series)
3. I open WF and try to update the seris, but Eviews says the following: Database error ....


What I do wrong? The series around 300 observations only ...

I have to say, that if I update the series immediately after downloading it, with EUROSTAT SDMX database dialog window being open, the update works...

EViews 11 patch (Nov 11 2020 build) contains the fix for this issue.

Have a look at another bug...

1. I fetched from EUROSTAT 3 series of GDP - Belgium (BE), Denmark (DK) and Estonia (EE). and store the workfile with links to update. 2. I open WF once again and try to update. Eviews updates all, but the last series in th WF - Estonia. I got message - I cannot update EE.
I click "update" on Estonia and I able to update one single series.
3. What I do? I delete Estonia and try to update all series once again. And I got message - I cannot udpate DK (the last series)
4. Conclusion - every time I want to update WF, Eviews cannot update the last series! Could you please to fix it?

One more question.
Are there any restrictions how many series I can download per session?
Look, I tried to select all 468 variables of euro area HICP indices, but application says "no results found". It's not really true. If one selects fewer series, then I'm able to download them...
It seems that there is some sensitivity to filters or something ...

One more question on a speed of data update from EUROSTAT.
The update of 100 HICP series takes about 3.5 min. Is that speed OK?
As to me, it's seems somewhat long. I try to undestand on which side might be problems - my, Eviews or EUROSTAT?!

Selecting filters for all SDMX databases is very important for reducing the speed or the query and the size of the results. When filters are not selected it means we will try to fetch everything (any number of series at any time) from a dataset.
I checked your query for Eurostat for the Dataset HICP without filters and saw that the response was:
>Response too large due to client request
>Query size exceeds maximum limit (1000000 entries)
Adding filters for COICOP and GEO for the specific HICP dataset will result in less entries and EViews will display the results.

Hi, fetching data from Eurostat is not working great at the moment. I guess the fault may perhaps be with Eurostat rather than Eviews.

The interactive filter list is slow and I find it difficult to make selections. Once I was able to select a series this appeared:

Latest patch of EViews 12 (Feb 4, 2021 Build) has a fix for the issue.

The Eurostat database is not working well with Eviews today. Opening the database and attempting to browse causes the following error with both Eviews 13 and Eviews 12:

Eurostat have discontinued the API that EViews uses. Unfortunately it will be some time before we are able to connect to Eurostat, I believe.

Hi again, have you made any progress on the Eurostat API issue? Do you know if it will be possible to connect to Eurostat via Eviews sometime again this year?
