weekday data creation

Hi, sorry to bother, my question, I have daily dates in my data in the format 1/1/1981, 1/2/1981, and so on till the 6/16/2020, and would like to remove Saturdays and Sundays, so just leave weekdays. I have read that using smpl @weekdays is achievable but don't know how to assign 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 to dates to then remove 6 and 7. Also, I have another workbook where I would like to leave just Sundays.
Is there a way to do it?.
