If you paste an existing variable name into the Name field of a Series label you get told that the variable name already exists. You should be given a chance to edit it before that happens.

You'll have to explain exactly what you think EViews should do - I'm not sure I follow what you're suggesting.
Seems to me that EViews is behaving exactly as it should - it won't let you rename a series to an existing name.

It should put the cursor in the edit field and let me edit after the paste.
