Hi,

I want to change the metadata in the Convert Hilo Attribute such as average => sum. But I am unable to as I get a message saying that it can't be modified. Is there another way to change it other than to replace it? It is because some methods of conversion isn't always by average.

Or do we get a choice of changing the default to something else when we actually convert?

Where are you trying to change it? On what type of object?

I'm adding some attributes to a database. And I noticed that one of the default ones (that was already there) is called Convert Hilo. I wanted to change it to something like the Conversion Technique beside it.

You can't change anything directly in the database. You'll have to fetch it into a workfile, change the attribute then send it back.

Yes, I've moved it into a workfile to change the attributes. But I can't change convert hilo (I believe it is an attribute already added by Eviews like freq). It just says I can't modify it.

Series. I fetched them from the database.

When modifying attribute values from the workfile window, you are attempting to modify the values for all the listed objects. We currently do not allow the modification of particular attributes for a set of the objects from the workfile window. Attributes such as 'Description' may be modified but not conversion methods.

You will have to change the value for each individual series. This can be done by opening the series and selecting Properties->Freq Convert.
