partially functioning help screens

The new help system in 6.0 seems to work very imperfectly (quite apart from being very badly designed)
Within pages there are various links that appear to allow clicking and linking to related topics, but these don't work on my machine (despite following instructions on Java and allowing pop-ups).
Any suggestions
