Importing Unbalanced Data From Execl

Hello,

I have an unbalanced data set I'd like to import into Eviews from Excel. However I am having trouble getting Eviews to recognise my data properly.

The Dataset consists of around 29000 observations, and has an idcode for every individual. From 1968 - 1988 each individual was interviewed a different number of times, rendering my panel data unbalanced.

Is anybody able to help me with this? The dataset in excel is attached.

Many Thanks

If I drag that file on to EViews, it automatically detects the panel structure without me needing to do anything. Just clicking "Finish" works.

Hello,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I ended up with the following on Eviews, and it looks like it has recognised the panel data!

I take it as I am ready to start creating dummy variables for my years, and running my regressions.

Thank you so much!
