I have daily data in Excel which I aim to import to Eviews using the import command. The data is in general listed on a daily working day basis, such that there is 5 observations per week. This suggests using import ....@freq D5.... However, for some few weeks my data has less than 5 observations. So when I import the data to Eviews, the data does not perfectly correspond to the dates that I had in my excel file (the data in the Eviews work file end earlier in time). Is there anyway to solve this in Eviews so that my Eviews workfile is a perfect match of the Excel file when it comes to the dates when observations were made?
Many thanks for your help.

If you have the dates in the Excel file, why not just import the date column too, and let EViews figure out the rest?

What would the syntax for that approach look like?
