Repeated crashes upon saving and opening certain workfiles

I have a number of workfiles linked to a Macrobond database -- all worked fine in EViews 8 but I am getting repeated crashes on opening and saving in Eviews 9. Attached is an example workbook behaving this way. It's erratic -- sometimes it crashes and sometimes it doesn't, although invoking "Save As..." seems more likely than other actions to crash EViews. Anyone know if this a bug or if there is a setting I can tweak?

Moreover, when a save fails, it corrupts the workfile, effectively destroying it. Yikes.

First thing to check is to make sure you are up to date (help->EViews update).
Are you using the 32 or 64 bit version of EViews? Type supportinfo and press Enter into the command window to get version information.
Are you refreshing the database links upon opening the workfile?
On a side note, if you look in the directory where your workfile exists, there should be backup of your workfile. It will have the same name but with the .~f1 extension instead of .wf1. To use it, delete the corrupted .wf1 and rename it to have the .wf1 extension or rename it to a completely different name but with the .wf1 extension.

Thank you for looking at this. I am on a 64-bit version of EViews 9, and am up to date -- build is May 8 2014 -- and I am on Windows 7. Yes, I am generally refreshing the links, which almost always works without incident. (It's crashed once or twice at that point but not regularly).
The place where it very frequently crashes is on saving.
Thank you for he pointer on the ~f1 extension.

We are in contact with the folks at Macrobond and will post back as soon as we have more information.

We are having problems replicating the crash. Do you have any other example workfiles?
Secondly, can you give step by step instructions on how to replicate the crash when it does occur?
What version of Macrobond are you using? The latest version of 1.14.50. It's not a bad idea to make sure that is up to date as well.

The crashes occur pretty randomly -- I have experimented for the past few hours and I cannot give you a recipe for replication. The crashes happen:
1) quite often when saving
2) sometimes when running a program
3) sometimes when just closing the workfile by clicking on the "x" at the top-right corner of the window
4) occasionally when opening a workfile
I thought it might have something to do with a file residing on Google drive rather than a local one, but I moved everything local and it still happens.
It happens for many workfiles -- but more frequently for large ones than for small ones. You can go 15 minutes without it crashing, but then you get a series of catastrophes.
I would rather not post one of those large workfiles on the forum, but we can talk offline maybe if you want to investigate more.
Macrobond is up to date.
Ugh. No ideas?

I suspect memory is being corrupted.
If you dont mind please send your program and workfile to
support@eviews.com and we can go from there.

The latest patch should fix this
