Hi
I can load a fame database from our server through the command:
dbopen(type=fame, s=server, u=username, p=password) path/dbname,
but is there a way to load data from our server that is stored in STATA format?
The wfopen command can be used to open STATA files, but this command can not be used to log on to a server. And the dbopen comman, which can log on to a server, cannot be used to open a STATA file.

What kind of log in does the server require?

Hi Gareth
Im not sure what you mean, but when I open fame databases, I only provide the server name, and my linux user name and password. then eviews connects to the fame database without a problem. did this answer your question?

I would guess that your network admins have actually set up the Fame server to accept your network/linux id/pw. Fame is running as a server. Stata doesn't run as a server, so EViews cannot connect to it.
