Need help creating life expectancy model

Hi all, I am new to the forum
I really need help with this, i will send $10 to your paypal account if you answer and solve my question
I am doing a project to see if income and several other variables effect life expectancy
My sample is the 50 states, and i obtained data for each state in the US
So far my dependent var is Life expectancy
My independent variables are: Salary , % of smokers, % of obese, % hispanic, % african american, % females, % higher education
My question is what dummy varible should i use, and how do i go about doing so
I thought of the following for dummy : either region (1=north 0=other) or unemployment (1=high, 0=low)
If i did use one of the previously mentioned dummies, would i just make a list of 50 0's and 1's corresponding to each state and then just run the regression?? I am not sure how to use dummies
