Something wrong with the excel file...

HI
I met a problem when I want to read a excel file by EViews 7 to do some Data analysis.
When I open a excel file(foreign Data) as a workfile in the read step one, as I click next step, an error message like this "Syntax error: unexpected character ' ? in file option settings" comes out.
And then I can't open this excel file. What's wrong with my excel file? :(

What's the build date of your copy of EViews 7? (You can find it on Help->About EViews).

Try saving it as .xls instead of .xlsx
