We changed the options a bit. If you change your program so that it has "cl" rather than "c" it will work with the new version.

After my post earlier about the revised add-in, I downloaded the quick-fix you posted. I've not re-installed the new version of the add-in as if it's the same as before it won't address the problem of mixed currencies. It's alright if you want single currency indices or a single index, which is often what I want. I was aware that the "c" option had to be changed. It didn't work because the add-in kept demanding a single currency in the command line form. So I'm sticking with the older version because it's more flexible.

I'm not sure I follow, sorry. If you enter no currency choice, then the behaviour should be exactly the same as it was before (other than changing "c" to "cl"). The sample program you posted above seems to work fine with that change made.

Against my better judgement, I re-installed the add-in. I changed the option to cl on a similar programme and ran it. I immediately got the message "No workfile exists- use new or open to create or load a workfile". You'll appreciate that using the older version, there was no need to do that. I've tried 1,i=1 and key=1 to get it to create a new workfile. So what don't I understand? Can you get me back to older version as before?

Ah, that's a good catch.

But sure, you can always re-download the one I posted up before if you want (its still there).

I've tried a various times over the past hour to download the old version from the link in a previous post. I keep getting told that Windows Explorer can't open the page. Is the link broken?

Nope, its still up. Your security settings might be blocking it.

The error message you were getting before is due to a bug in EViews itself, rather than the Add-in. We'll be releasing a patch for EViews soon.

Can't be my security settings since they've not been changed since I downloaded it before.

Just tried on three different connections, and they were all able to get it (and nothing has changed since I first put it up either).

There's yet another version of the Add-in up.

The problem might be my end as the computer I was using appears to be playing up. It won't switch on suddelny. This one is running XP and has no trouble with link.

Great, although if I can persuade you to redownload the add-in again and try it...., :)

Will do on this one even though it's much slower.
