Scatter plot labels

Hello, I know it has been a few years, but I'm working on a problem which could benefit from revisiting this code. I can see some components above. But my knowledge of eviews is not up there to complete the task by myself. May I ask for the necessary commands some of which may have been omitted above.

I am working with a pool file structure, with several series e.g. _gdp, _cpi etc and 25 country identifiers. Each series runs from Jan 2000 to Dec 2015. What would be the most efficient way to generate a scatter plot of any 2 variables plotted at a particular month? I would need to label the scatter using the country identifiers. In the code above, the data point marker is replaced by the label -- is it possible to retain both a marker and the label? What if I would like to skip some labels to avoid clutter? I am happy to manually delete labels from a list and re-apply setobslabels if that is what is required.

I see that all these issues were addressed above. But I could not create the necessary matrices using @dtoo etc -- so would really appreciate more guidance.
