Fetch into Different Pages of a WF

Postby w_nawfal » Tue Aug 10, 2010 8:03 am

Hello Folks

Is it possible to fetch files into different pages within a wf using the fetch command or the wfcreat command?

i.e. if i want to fetch daily data and place it in a daily page and then fetch monthly data and place it in a monthly page etc.

many thanks

Wes

When you say fetch, you mean you want to fetch it from a database?

Simply use pagecreate to create the new pages, then pageselect to select which page you're on, then use fetch to fetch the data.

Yes, Gareth - I meant from a database.

Thank you for the heads up on this issue.

Cheers

If I may please ask one more thing Gareth.

I've been trying to change the labels on the Y-axis - customize them, so that for example I can choose the numbers I want to be shown on the Y-axis. Unfortunately no ammount of pouring over the manuals has yielded anything of significance.

Ideally, if i can change the y-axis values I can also choose the frequency of the tickmarks as well ... so that for example I can have tick marks on the labels i chose and then if required tickmarks in between.

I thank you in advance for any help you may give me on this point.

Wes

You'll have to be more specific.

Perhaps posting the workfile.

appreciate the feedback Gareth ~ kindly let me know if you come across anything that may help in this situation

in the mean time - i'll keep trying on this end and if successful i'll post my findings here in case anyone else needs the same results.

hello Gareth

this is a follow up our previous discussion regarding customizing the y-axis lables.

reading through the manuals this weekend ~ I discovered the setobslabel command which allowed me to modify the X axis lables (although i haven't mastered the details of this comand yet - but it seems i'm on the right track!)

is there a way to use this command so that it would apply to the y-axis?

It is for the X-axis only (well, more correctly, it is for the date/time/id axis)

indeed it is Gareth, however - is there a similar comand for the y-axis?

and if not ~ where can i submit a suggestion so that such a command can be included in a future version / update of e-views?

Wes
