AREMOS TSD import error

Postby MJV » Tue Jun 29, 2010 4:11 pm

I'm a long-time AREMOS user and new to EViews. I'm getting the following error message "Database error: file '...mytsd.tsd' does not match expected format. I created mytsd.tsd from AREMOS and it contains 24 annual frequency series. I can view the contents of this file with a text editor (TEXTPAD) and it looks okay. To see what EViews expects, I used EViews file export TSD to export some data from a demo workfile. Then opened the resulting file with the text editor. This file looks like what AREMOS created (different data, of course). Any ideas as to why EViews doesn't like the AREMOS-created TSD file?

Our Aremos expert is our of town right now. I'll point him in this direction when he gets back (next week).

It may also be a good idea for you to send your AREMOS file to support@eviews.com. Be sure to mention this thread in your email.

I also tried exporting the data into Excel (using the AREMOS EXCEL EXPORT command). EViews then gives an error message that the file "does not match the expected format" when I drag and drop onto the EViews window (or open foreign data as workfile). I tried both COLUMN and ROW formats. SAlso tried creating a database, but that doesn't work for Excel files. So, I need help migrating data from AREMOS into EViews.
