Gravity model and data organization

Postby maxouwwww » Sat Apr 24, 2010 4:52 am

Hello everybody!

I am currently working on the gravity equation using panel data and I need your help to organize my data not directly in eviews but first in an excel file. The only idea I have to organize panel data in an excel file comes from the following topic:

http://forums.eviews.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=74

But in this case, it is quite simple since each cross section is a country. In the case of the gravity model I don't see how to solve the problem of organizing my data. Should I simply follow one of the first two excel examples in the topic quoted above but instead of taking each country separately taking each bilateral relation as a cross-section?

I don't know if you really understand what I mean but if you have tricks to help me to solve this problem, please help me

Thank you very much

Max

Might help if you were to describe your data/model.
