Hello from Paris,
I have a pproblem with the sample statement.
The "quiet" option works quite well for the commands on the bottom line.
Hpwever if a program repeats the "sample" statement, the changes in the sample appear in the "sample' line (between the "range" line and the program display). This was not true for EViews 12. It started with Eviews 13.
This quite annoying for programs with repeated changes in the for sample, for instance if they use the "sample if ..." with a changing option.. For one of mine the duration goes from 1.5 seconds to 31!
Is there a solution?
Jean Louis Brillet.

Re: Displaying the sample in the "sample" line
It is unlikely that displaying the sample causes such a large increase in run time. Perhaps something else is going on?
Re: Displaying the sample in the "sample" line
Hello Gareth,
This might not be the cause, I agree.
However:
1 - It appears that the display of a varying sample (very frequent in my case) is new to EViews 13 and 14.
2 - This increases the time taken just as the switch from quiet to verbose.
3 - Calling the very same subroutine under the very same conditions takes 9 seconds in EViews 12 and 261 in Eviews 14 (I use tic and toc).
I can provide you with the 3 files if you want.
With my best regards,
Jean Louis.

Providing the files is probably best.
