merging two (or more) datasets

Postby beckett » Fri Feb 12, 2010 3:24 am

Hello,
there are several datasets with varying number of cross-sectional units; the intersection of these datasets (w.r.t. cross-sectional units) is non-empty and all datasets share a common unique identifier for the cross-sectional units. How can I merge these datasets in EViews (comparable to a JOIN in a database)?

Just copy from one to another.

not very helpful...

Gareth not being helpful is an oxymoron. Perhaps you might re-read page 55 of EViews Illustrated.

Is there a code for merging two (or more) similar databases?

If you look up "match merge" in the EViews documentation index you'll see pointers to extensive discussion of dataset merging.
