I am calculating coefficient elasticity with OLS and these is my problem.
First I convert time series variable into log and after that caculating elasticity with OLS. So my question is does this coefficient of elasticity are relavant if p-value is not significant or in this case p-value is not relevant for calculating elasticity ?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Calculating elasticity with OLS
Significance matters for elasticity exactly as it would for any other parameter you might estimate.

Dear j235,
As said by startz, significance matters for elasticity.
If p-value is not relevant, maybe until 0,10, your variable is not relevant for this equation. You have also to analyze residuals, probably there is a lot of informations inside these residuals.
Regards.
