Y is not defined

Postby kitty1410 » Tue Sep 13, 2016 6:13 am

Hi,

I'm trying to run a regression and am getting the error 'y is not defined'. I'm very new to eviews and I think it's probably something super basic that I've missed.

I have imported an excel file that has numerous variables, and I want to make an equation with a few of them. So I click quick, estimate equation, then type:

y c x y z

with x y z being the name of the variables. There are around 800 observations. When I hit ok, the error message comes up.

Any help would be fantastic.

Cheers

Do you have a variable named y in your workfile?
