Hello fellow E-Viewers,
I currently have a data-set with 12 months of monthly data, and a bucket of last year sales(total sales not monthly). I am looking to create a Poisson distribution model to create forecast sales for inventory ordering purposes.
I would like to also put in a dynamic function of min/max ordering using this approach.
Is there anyone available to help me with this problem? I would appreciate a PM or post of relevancy as I am struggling to do this in the E-Views software (I'm more excel based)
Regards,
TheClam

Re: Poisson Distribution for Sales Forecast
Three quick comments.
First, 12 observations isn't very many to do any Poisson fitting.
Second, what variables do you want to use to predict monthly sales? If lags, what lag order?
Third, I don't understand what you mean by dynamic function of min/max ordering.
In general, you need to be more specific about what it is you wish to do. Given that, we should be able to get you going.
