import character series

Dear Gareth,

Apologies if this question has been asked before.

How to import a character series to wf using commands? I have a country code series, eg. US, CN etc. I used the usual read command. It does not work. I am using Eviews 8.

READ was discontinued in EViews 5. Use WFOPEN or IMPORT instead.
